In short
Breast augmentation places silicone gel or saline implants behind the breast tissue or the chest muscle. The incision is usually in the breast fold or at the lower edge of the areola. It is performed under general anaesthesia; pain eases in 1–2 days and most people return to daily life within a week.

Who is it for?
Women with small breasts, volume loss after pregnancy or weight loss, or asymmetry between the breasts. Surgery is performed after breast development is complete.
Choosing the implant
Implant volume, profile and shape (round or anatomical) are chosen according to chest width, skin elasticity and your goals. There is no single 'right' size; the best size is the one that suits your frame.
How is it performed?
Through a 4–5 cm incision, a pocket is created behind the breast tissue or the chest muscle and the implant is placed. The choice of plane depends on how much natural tissue you have.
Recovery
A support bra is worn for 4–6 weeks. Desk work is possible after about a week; heavy exercise after 4–6 weeks.
Frequently asked questions
Under or over the muscle?
It depends on your tissue thickness. Thin patients usually benefit from placement under the muscle.
How long do breast implants last?
Modern implants do not have a fixed expiry date, but regular check-ups are needed and replacement may be required over the years.
Can I breastfeed after augmentation?
In most cases yes, because the milk glands are not removed.
Do implants cause cancer?
Implants do not increase breast cancer risk. A very rare lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) has mainly been linked to textured implants.
Can I have a mammogram with implants?
Yes, with special techniques. Tell the radiographer that you have implants.
Can my own fat be used instead?
Yes, for modest enlargement fat transfer is an option.
How long should I stay in Ankara?
About 7 days.
When can I fly?
Usually after the first check-up, around day 5–7.
Will there be a scar?
A short scar in the breast fold or at the areola edge fades over time.
Can augmentation be combined with a lift?
Yes. If the breasts are sagging, a lift with implants is planned.
