In short
Tip rhinoplasty (tip plasty) reshapes only the cartilages of the nasal tip; the septum and nasal bones are not touched. There is much less bruising and swelling than with standard rhinoplasty. Swelling takes about 3 months to settle, up to a year in thick skin.

What is tip rhinoplasty?
The nasal tip is shaped by two pairs of cartilages. In tip rhinoplasty these are trimmed, repositioned and supported with sutures or small grafts to refine and lift the tip. Because the bones are not broken, recovery is quicker.
Who is it for?
People with a bulbous, wide, drooping or asymmetric tip whose nasal bridge is already acceptable. A tip that drops further when smiling can also be addressed.
Recovery
A small tape or splint stays on for 5–10 days. Bruising is minimal. Most people return to work within a week; the tip continues to refine over the following months.
Frequently asked questions
How long does tip rhinoplasty take?
Usually 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.
Can it be done under local anaesthesia?
Small corrections can be done under local anaesthesia with sedation; most patients prefer general anaesthesia.
Will there be a scar?
With the closed technique there is no external scar. With the open technique a tiny scar on the columella fades over time.
Can a drooping tip be lifted?
Yes. Cartilage support and sutures lift the tip to the right angle.
Is tip rhinoplasty permanent?
Yes, when the tip is properly supported.
Is there bruising?
Usually little or none because the bones are not touched.
Can fillers lift the tip instead?
Fillers have a limited, temporary effect on the tip. Permanent correction requires surgery.
When will I see the final result?
Most swelling settles in about 3 months; up to a year in thick skin.
How many days should I stay in Ankara?
About 5–7 days.
Can I combine it with nostril reduction?
Yes. Alar base (nostril) reduction is often combined with tip surgery.
