Rhinoplasty in Ankara, Turkey

A nose that suits your face, lets you breathe freely and does not look operated on. Rhinoplasty is planned around your facial proportions, not a template.

In short

Rhinoplasty (nose job) reshapes the bone and cartilage of the nose. It is performed in a fully equipped hospital under general anaesthesia and usually takes 1.5–3 hours. Breathing problems such as a deviated septum are corrected in the same operation. Most swelling settles within the first month; the final shape is seen at 6–12 months.

What is rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty is surgery to change the shape, size or proportions of the nose. The bony hump can be removed, a wide nose narrowed, a drooping or bulbous tip refined and a crooked nose straightened. Because the nose sits in the centre of the face, small changes have a large effect on the whole expression. The aim is a nose that belongs to your face, not a nose that looks 'done'.

How is rhinoplasty planned?

At the consultation your nose is examined inside and out, skin thickness is assessed and your expectations are discussed openly. Standard photographs are taken and, where helpful, computer imaging is used to agree on a realistic goal. The chin and forehead are evaluated too, because they change how the nose is perceived.

Open and closed rhinoplasty

In closed rhinoplasty all incisions are inside the nostrils and no external scar remains. In open rhinoplasty a few millimetres' incision is added across the columella (the skin between the nostrils), which gives better access for detailed tip work and revision surgery; the scar becomes barely visible. The technique is chosen for your nose, not the other way round.

Recovery after rhinoplasty

  • A small splint stays on the nose for about a week.
  • Bruising around the eyes, if any, fades in 10–14 days.
  • Most people return to desk work and social life after 7–10 days.
  • Sport is resumed after 4–6 weeks; contact sports after 3 months.
  • Most swelling settles in the first month; the final result is seen at 6–12 months, later in thick skin.

Who is a good candidate?

Healthy adults whose nasal growth is complete (usually from 17–18 years of age) and who have realistic expectations. Smokers are asked to stop at least two weeks before surgery. Patients travelling from abroad should plan to stay in Ankara for about 7–10 days.

Frequently asked questions

How much does rhinoplasty cost in Turkey?

The fee depends on the scope of surgery, the hospital and whether cartilage grafts are needed. Turkish health advertising regulations do not allow doctors to publish prices; information is given after assessment.

How long should I stay in Ankara after rhinoplasty?

Usually 7–10 days, until the splint is removed and the first check-up is done.

When can I fly after rhinoplasty?

It is generally recommended not to fly during the first 7 days.

Is rhinoplasty painful?

Pain is usually mild and controlled with simple painkillers. Nasal stuffiness in the first days is the main discomfort.

Will there be nasal packing?

In suitable patients no packing is used. If septum surgery is performed, soft silicone splints with an airway may be kept for 2–3 days.

Can my breathing problem be fixed at the same time?

Yes. A deviated septum and enlarged turbinates are corrected in the same operation (septorhinoplasty).

Will people know I had a nose job?

The aim is a natural nose in harmony with your face. Over-reduction and an overly upturned tip are avoided.

Is rhinoplasty permanent?

Yes. Changes to bone and cartilage are permanent, although the face continues to age naturally.

What is the minimum age for rhinoplasty?

Usually 17–18 years, when the nose has finished growing. Patients under 18 need parental consent.

Can I send photos before travelling?

Yes. Front, side and three-quarter photos in daylight can be sent via WhatsApp to +90 532 464 67 81 for a preliminary opinion.
