In short
A tummy tuck removes excess skin and fat from the lower and middle abdomen and tightens separated abdominal muscles by stitching them together in the midline. The scar is permanent but lies below the underwear line. A full tummy tuck takes 2–5 hours; return to work takes 2–4 weeks and full recovery a few months.

Who is it for?
Women after pregnancy with loose skin and separated muscles (diastasis recti), and people with excess skin after major weight loss. Weight should be stable and future pregnancies ideally completed.
How is it performed?
A low incision is made from hip to hip. Excess skin and fat are removed, the muscles are tightened and the belly button is repositioned through the new skin. Liposuction of the waist is often combined.
Recovery
You walk slightly bent forward for the first 1–2 weeks. A compression garment is worn for 6 weeks. Abdominal exercises are resumed after 6–8 weeks.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the scar?
Low on the abdomen, below the underwear line, and around the belly button.
Can I get pregnant after a tummy tuck?
Yes, but pregnancy can stretch the abdomen again; it is better to wait until family planning is complete.
What is a mini tummy tuck?
A shorter-scar operation for excess skin below the belly button only.
Will my C-section scar be removed?
Usually it lies within the skin that is removed.
Is diastasis recti repaired?
Yes. Separated muscles are stitched together in the same operation.
How long should I stay in Ankara?
About 10–14 days.
When can I fly?
Usually after 7–10 days, following the surgeon's check-up.
Is it painful?
The first days are uncomfortable; pain is controlled with medication.
Can it be combined with breast surgery?
Yes, in suitable patients ('mommy makeover').
Are the results permanent?
Yes, as long as weight remains stable.
