Liposuction (lipoplasty) removes localised fat deposits by suction through thin cannulas inserted via incisions smaller than 1 cm. Who is it for?
People close to their ideal weight with fat deposits that do not respond to diet and exercise, and with good skin elasticity. Loose skin is not tightened by liposuction alone.
Is liposuction a weight-loss method?
No. The aim is contour, not kilograms. Removing large volumes of fat increases risk and is avoided.
How is it performed?
A tumescent solution is infiltrated, then fat is removed through thin cannulas. Several areas can be treated in one session within safe limits.
Recovery
A compression garment is worn for 4–6 weeks. Swelling and bruising settle over weeks; the final result appears at 3–6 months.
